Hello Visitor,

Greetings NSW/ACT!

After the false start to our ANZSRS regional year behind us, it is time for us to give 2020 a second chance and make the most of it!

Firstly, we will be unable to have face-to face meetings for the foreseeable future, so I will investigate the logistics of using these opportunities to instead have an education video posted to the website for everyone’s benefit. The meeting that was to occur a few weeks ago at CRGH will now be organised for May. The remaining two meetings may change as thing evolve.

Secondly, all ANZSRS regions have been encourage to have more content on the website. It might be a summary of a meeting or information relating to upcoming meetings, but we also want it to be more interactive and fun. If any members have had notable achievements or even just exciting news please let me know! Were you successful in getting an Arterial Blood Gas on your first attempt? Maybe you achieved your CRFS? Perhaps you finished that Masters? Did you get a new high score in Fortnite? Dare I say you successfully walked out of a supermarket with toilet paper? I’ll take anything.  Otherwise I will be forced to share photos of my cats.

Thirdly, it is high time to dust off the Case of the Month and Library Corner. NSW/ACT is responsible for Case of the Month in June and December, and Library Corner in September. I would encourage labs to offer to organise these please, especially if you haven’t had the opportunity to host a branch meeting for a while. Otherwise you will receive a pleasantly-worded email from me begging, and no one needs that in 2020.

Below is our year as it stands. Please email nswact@anzsrs.org.au to let me know your preference.

May 26th: Web meeting (CRGH)

June: Case of the Month <insert your lab here>

August: 18th: Regional meeting <insert your lab here>

September: Library Corner <insert your lab here>

November 27th: Regional meeting

December: Case of the Month <insert your lab here>

As always please let me know if you have any ideas, suggestions, complaints or compliments.

Thanks again,

Lachlan Buddle
