I hope you are all keeping as well and sane as possible in what seems like a never-ending story of restrictions and lockdowns in Victoria.
Equally, I hope our Tasmanian friends are embracing and appreciating all their freedoms!
There are a couple of save the date and tentative dates coming up, with more details to follow:
- Regional meeting: Wednesday 20th October 17:30 (AEDT) - review of recent paper "Addressing Race in Pulmonary Function Testing by Aligning Intent and Evidence with Practice and Perception" (via Zoom)
- Combined TSANZ & ANZSRS Vic branch meeting: Friday 12th November 10:00 - 17:00 (via Zoom)
- End of year meeting via Zoom followed by optional dinner for those who wish to attend :Expression of interest
Victoria's roadmap out of restrictions has indoor dining progressively opening up from late October, and aligned with the national plan from 19th November (see:https://www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/victorias-roadmap). I'd like to get an idea of how many members would be interested in attending a sponsored dinner approximately late-November / early December? To be inclusive to all members, I'm thinking a Zoom presentation in the afternoon (so no-one, including invited speaker feels obliged to attend face-to-face), followed by sponsored dinner in the evening for those interested (City / Fitzroy / inner city). Please let me know if you'd be interested (victas@anzsrs.org.au) as numbers, venue availability and restrictions will be factors for planning a sponsored dinner.
As always, if you have any other suggestions for regional meetings or interactions, I'd love to hear from you.
Kind Regards,
